Efficiency vs. supply article
We’re pleased to share that the Gen Y Demonstration Housing Project has been featured in the latest issue of Architecture Australia.
As part of the dossier "What are architects doing about the housing crisis?", Linda Cheng's thoughtful article "Efficiency vs Supply" addresses a key question in the housing debate: how can we make better use of what we already have?
Linda references Gen Y as an example of a build-form typology that could be retrofitted into existing housing stock. A compact, adaptable model for apartment-style living that reflects a more efficient, sustainable approach to density.
It’s rewarding to see this early work remain relevant in today's national conversation. With housing supply and affordability at crisis levels, we believe architecture has a responsibility to lead with smart, scalable design ideas.
Thanks to Architecture Australia and Linda Cheng for highlighting the project.
